Certification for Medication Technicians


The Certified Medication Technician performs the delegated nursing functions of medication administration in community based settings under the supervision of a registered nurse.

How to become a Medication Technician

The Certified Medication Technician (CMT), is an individual who has completed the Board approved 20 hour training program in medication administration. The medication technician who has completed this required training and who is certified by the Board may administer medications at the delegation of and under the supervision of registered nurses to clients in a community based setting.

Upon completion of 20 hour class, that include clinical returns, Candidates are awarded a certificate completion of 20 hours Med Tech training which they can use for up to 6 months while you wait for the Board of Nursing to Process your official CMT certification. We also offer 20 hour renewal of expired CMT certificates and 4 hour renewal online for current CMT. We assist with job placement but not guaranteed. Classes are offered Wed, Fridays and Saturdays 10am - 2pm
